EX-BOCCACCIO '99. BUILT IN 1970 BY ITALCANTIERI SPA, CASTELLAMMARE DO STABIA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY PACIFIC SUNLIGHT MARINE INC, EI SALAM MARITIME TRANSPORT CO SA, PANAMA. TWO OIL ENGINES FOR 16560 BHP, TWIN SHAFT. PASSAGE FOR DHUBA FOR SAFAGA. SUFFERED FIRE ON THE CAR DECK SHORTLY AFTER SAILING AND SANK PROBABLY DUE TO INSTABILITY CAUSED BY FIREFIGHTING WATER. OF 1414 SOULS ON BOARD ONLY 388 RECOVERED. VESSEL WAS IN CLASS WITH ADEQUATE SAFETY EQUIPMENT. (LL & LR).
