TRINITY HOUSE VESSEL WAS PROBABLY HIT BY A SUBMARINE, BUT MAY HAVE STRUCK A MINE WHILE ON PASSAGE FROM NORMANDY TO COWES. VESSEL WAS TAKEN IN TOW TO A NEARBY BEACH BUT SANK EN ROUTE. (LL WW2).
