20.12.40 BUILT 1905 BY WARTRAM SONS. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY C CHOREMIS. TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 291NHP. PASSAGE SYDNEY NS FOR BELFAST. TORPEDOED BY ITALIAN SUBMARINE `VENIERO. (LLOYDS & AXIS SUBMARINE SUCCESSES). WAS SIGHTED DRIFTING AND DERELICT ON 20.12.40. LATER LEARNED THAT SHE HAD BEEN TORPEDOED BY AN ITALIAN SUBMARINE AND 8 MEN WERE POWS IN ITALY. (DODS).
