THE VESSEL WAS WORKING IN THE SUEZ CANAL WHEN SHE PUMPED UP A TORPEDO AND SANK FROM THE RESULTANT EXPLOSION. DECLARED A WAR CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS. LATER REFLOATED, TOWED TO PORT SAID AND SOLD TO A LOCAL SCRAP DEALER. (MSD).
