BR STD. H1310/83/2 13.1.83 KNOWN LOCALLY AS EARL OF BEACONSFIELD & BELIEVED TO HAVE SUNK IN 1867. A VERY SUBSTANTIAL WK, ABOUT 300FT LONG, & STILL IN REMARKABLY GOOD CONDITION WITH MUCH OF THE WOODEN DECKING STILL PRESENT. IT LIES PARALLEL TO THE SHORE WITH BOW SECTION SHOWING ABOUT 6FT AT LOW WATER AND STERN COMING TO WITHIN 2 TO 3FT OF THE SURFACE. MANY OF THE RIBS ALONG LENGTH OF HULL ALSO COME CLOSE TO THE SURFACE. FIXED USING SEXTANT & RADAR RANGE WITH COMPASS BEARING FROM SHIP, LOCATION OF WHICH DETERMINED USING HIFIX, IN 534905N, 000340W [OGB]. WK HAS WOODEN HULL WITH STEEL FITTINGS. LIES N/S & DRIES 3MTRS. (HMS BULLDOG, HI 12). RETAIN AS ST DRIES 3MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. SEP 2011/000131153 2.8.11 LOCATED IN 5349.103N, 0003.672W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH DRIES 1.77MTRS.
