Circumstances of loss
VESSEL, BUILT 1972 BY BRODOGRADILISTE 'ULJANIK', PULA. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GENERAL ORE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. WHILST EN ROUTE FROM TUBARAO, BRAZIL FOR KIMITSU, JAPAN, SUFFERED AN EXPLOSION CAUSING A SEVERE LIST. A SECOND EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY A THIRD MASSIVE EXPLOSION CAUSED THE VESSEL TO BLOW APART AND SINK IMMEDIATELY. 30 CREW LOST WITH ONLY TWO SURVIVORS TO CONFIRM REPORT. (MSD).
