TORPEDOED AND SUNK BY ITALIAN SUBMARINE 'DANDOLO'. VESSEL, BUILT 1917 BY W DOXFORD & SONS, WAS TORPEDOED & SUNK BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE OFF MELILLA. OWNED AT THE TIME OF LOSS BY THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT. (DODS). VESSEL SUNK BY EITHER GERMAN OR ITALIAN SUBMARINE, WHILE IN SPANISH TERRITORIAL WATERS, WHEN ABOUT TO ENTER MELILLA TO LOAD ORON ORE FOR GIJON. ALL CREW SAVED. (LL WW2).
