BUILT IN 1961 BY J J SIETAS SCHIFFW, HAMBURG. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY CEDAR STARS CO. PASSAGE LEBANON FOR PORT SUDAN. CARRYING 170 SUDANESE SOLDIERS OF THEARAB LEAGUE PEACEKEEPING FORCE. RAN AGROUND ON ELBA REEF. ALL REMAINED ON BOARD FOR THREE DAYS IN ROUGH SEAS, FINALLY BEING RECOVERED BY HELICOPTER.
