BUILT IN 1880 BY WHITEHAVEN SHIPBUILDING CO, WHITEHAVEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY J CRICHTON. ONE BOILER, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE OF 70 NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY BY J JONES & SONS, LIVERPOOL. PASSAGE PORTLAND FOR ANTWERP. STRUCK THE BREAKWATER WHEN LEAVING PORTLAND AND SUSTAINED SOME DAMAGE WHICH WAS NOT OBVIOUS AT THE TIME. PROCEEDED ON VOYAGE AND SANK WHEN 10 MILES OFF THE ISLE OF WIGHT. (SIBI).
