EX-HOPECREST. BUILT IN 1918 BY SWAN, HUNTER & WIGHAM, RICHARDSON, SUNDERLAND. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY WILLIAM CORY & SONS LTD, LONDON. TWO BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 288NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE ROCHESTER FOR SUNDERLAND. BECAME IMPALED ON STERN SECTION OF FORT MASSAC. THREE TUGS CAME TO ASSISTANCE AND VESSEL WAS PATCHED UP WITH A VIEW TO REFLOATING. BECAME MORE IMPALED IN A HEAVY SWELL AND WAS ABANDONED AS CTL. LATER DISPERSED BY TH. (SIBI).
