BUILT IN 188 BY W GREY & CO, WEST HARTLEPOOL. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LONDON & NORTHERN SS CO (PYMAN BROS, MANAGER). TWO BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 240NHP FOR 9 KNOTS, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE THE TYNE FOR POZZUOLI. CARGO OF GUN MOUNTINGS, MACHINERY, STEEL BILLETS, LEAD INGOTS AND GENERAL. DISTRESS SIGNALS SEEN OFF HARTLEPOOL DURING THE NIGHT OF 12/13 OCTOBER WITH A FULL HURRICANE BLOWING. WRECKAGE AND SOME BODIES WASHED ASHORE OVER THE FOLLOWING FEW DAYS. (SIBI).
