TORPEDOED BY JAPANESE MIDGET SUBMARINE IN THE APROACHES TO KHAWR MUSCAT. RAISED SHORTLY THEREAFTER, SOME CARGO SALVAGED, THEN SCUTTLED IN 'DEEP WATER'. 15 CREW WERE KILLED WHEN TORPEDOED. (DODS). PASSAGE BUSREH FOR KARACHI. AT ANCHOR IN MUSCAT WHEN TORPEDOED. CARGO OF 500TONS BITUMEN AND GENERAL. CREW OF 59 OF WHOM 15 WERE LOST. 26 STEVEDORES ON BOARD AT TIME WERE LOST ALSO. (WW2SL).
