Circumstances of loss
BUILT OF IRON IN 1875 BY ABERCORN SHIPBUILDING, PAISLEY. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY NOBEL'S EXPLOSIVE CO, GLASGOW. ONE BOILER, COMPOND EXPANSION ENGINE OF 27NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE IRVINE FOR THE RIVER MERSEY. WHEN AT ANCHOR IN CROSBY CHANNEL, ABOUT 0.25 MILE WNW FROM C5 BLACK BUOY, WAS RUN INTO BY SS KNUTSFORD AND SANK IMMEDIATELY. MAJORITY OF CARGO RECOVERED. LATER DISPERSED. (SIBI). RSDRA2025000169193 12.05.25 NOT LOCATED IN M/B DATASET 2025. (PEEL PORTS LIVERPOOL, DTD 17.03.25). NFA.
