ABOUT 0.75TONS OF EXPLOSIVE COULD NOT BE FOUND IN THE WK. DISPERSED BY BLASTING BY MDHB BETWEEN 17.3.1891 AND 14.4.1891. DEPTH 24FT BELOW LBD. (LIVERPOOL WK RECORDS). PASSAGE IRVINE FOR THE RIVER MERSEY. WHEN AT ANCHOR IN CROSBY CHANNEL, ABOUT 0.25 MILE WNW FROM C5 BLACK BUOY, WAS RUN INTO BY SS KNUTSFORD AND SANK IMMEDIATELY. MAJORITY OF CARGO RECOVERED.
