Circumstances of loss
ATTACKED BY GERMAN AIRCRAFT. BOMB FELL INTO THE WHEELHOUSE AND FAILED TO EXPLODE. ABANDONED AND DRIFTED ASHORE 3 CABLES N OF LATHERON WHEEL HARBOUR AND BECAME A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WAS NO REPORT OF THE BOMB BEING REMOVED. (LL).
