BUILT IN 1944 BY ST JOHN'S RIVER SHIPBUILDING CO, JACKSONVILLE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY VOLBAY NAV SA. PASSAGE GALVESTON FOR SAIGON. ABANDONED IN SINKING CONDITION AFTER TAKING WATER IN THE ENGINE ROOM. ABANDONED AND TAKEN IN TOW BY SEA PIONEER. TOW PARTED THE NEXT MORNING. PRESUMED SUNK. (MSD).
