EX-ANDREA '40, EX-GERMAINE L D, EX-EASTNEY. BUILT IN 1915 BY NORTHUMBERLAND SHIPBUILDING CO, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MINISTRY OF SHIPPING (RUNCIMAN SHIPPING CO).THREE BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 370 NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY BY WALLEND SLIPWAY CO LTD, NEWCASTLE. PASSAGE THE TYNE FOR WABANA, NEWFOUDLAND. TORPEDOED BY U-138 WHEN PART OF CONVOY OB 216. WAS TAKEN IN TOW BUT LATER SANK. 21 CREW LOST, 18 RECOVERED. (LLWW2, DODS & SIBI).
