20.3.81 WAS IN TOW OF MV 'CARLO', EN ROUTE TO SWANSEA FOR BREAKING, WHEN LINE BROKE. DRIFTED ASHORE AT GREENCLIFF, ABBOTSHAM. (LL, 20.3.81 & BIDEFORD GAZETTE, 20.3.81). VESSEL, EX-RIKA, EX-ADELE, BUILT 1954 BY JJ SIETAS SCHIFFSW, HAMBURG WITH 6 CYLINDER OIL ENGINE. TONNAGE GIVEN AS 496 GROSS. ENGINE HAD BEEN REMOVED AS VESSEL WAS UNDER TOW TO BREAKERS. WK WAS LOOTED AND SET ON FIRE. (SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES)
