15.10.08 PINNED AGAINST CLIFFS OF EUROPA POINT BY STRONG WINDS. (LL 14.10.08). POSN 3606.570N, 0520.677W [WGD] FOR FILING ONLY. 5.1.09 ACCOMMODATION BLOCK WAS REMOVED BY TAKLIFT 6 IN EARLY DECEMBER AND FERRIED INTO GIBRALTAR TO BE DISMANTLED. TUGS NOW ATTACHED TO HULL TO TRY AND PULL VESSEL OFF IN SPRING TIDES. STILL HOLDING FAST DESPITE RETAINING SIGNIFICANT BUOYANCY. AIM IS TO SURVEY HULL AND TAKE INTO GIBRALTAR TO BE DISMANTLED. REMAINDER OF STERN SECTION STILL PINNED AT BASE OF CLIFFS AND WILL REQUIRE A SEPARATE OPERATION TO REMOVE. (LL 31.12.08). NCA. 8.1.09 BOW SECTION NOW REMOVED. BEING SURVEYED AND WILL BE DISMANTLED IN GIBRALTAR. ENGINE ROOM AND FUNNEL REMAIN PINNED AT THE BASE OF THE CLIFFS. (LL 6.1.09). Circumstances of loss

BUILT IN 1984. EXPERIENCED ENGINE PROBLEMS AND DRAGGED BOTH ANCHORS IN EASTERLY STORM WITH 50 KNOT WINDS. BROKE IN TWO CLOSE TO THE ACCOMMODATION AREA. CREW OF 31 RECOVERED. ENGINE HAD BEEN DISMANTLED FOR REPAIRS WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PORT AUTHORITY. (LL).
