Circumstances of loss
18.9.1942 BUILT IN 1892 BY SIR J LAING & SONS, SUNDERLAND. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY W FRANCE, FENWICK & CO. TWO BOILERS, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 199NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. BOMBED AND SUNK AT DARTMOUTH 18.9.1942. SUBSEQUENTLY RAISED. AFTER PART BROKEN UP, FWD PART TAKEN TO CARDIFF AND CONVERTED TO BLOCKSHIP IN 1944. USED FOR EXPERIMENTAL PURPOSES.
