BUILT IN 1925 BY HARLAND AND WOLFF LTD, GLASGOW. SHE WAS A STEEL TWIN SCREW DRY CARGO MV. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BANK LINE LTD, GLASGOW. VESSEL WAS BLOWN ASHORE WHEN SHE WAS ABANDONED AFTER FIRE BROKE OUT IN THE ENGINE ROOM. PASSAGE CAPE TOWN FOR DURBAN. 1 MAN LOST, 54 ON BOARD RESCUED INCLUDING MASTERS WIFE BY MV CITY OF YORK. CONFIRMED A TOTAL LOSS. (LONDON COURT REPORT NO. 8008)
