BUILT OF IRON IN 1862 BY LARID & SONS, BIRKENHEAD AS A FULL RIGGED SHIP. OWNED THROUGHOUT BY E P BATES, LIVERPOOL. REGISTERED AS A BARQUE FROM 1879. WAS UNDER TOW OF A TUG FOR LIVERPOOL WHEN SHE STRUCK A REEF ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE WEST MOUSE ROCK. SWUNG ROUND AND FELL OVER AND WAS ABANDONED AT ONCE. ONE MAN LOST. CREW RECOVERED BY TUG. (SIBI). LOST TOW AND DRIFTED ONTO ROCKS. (SHIPWRECKS OF N WALES).
