STOPPED AFTER GUNFIRE FROM A GERMAN SUBMARINE WHICH WAS UNABLE TO BOARD DUE TO HEAVY SEAS. ABANDONED ON FIRE FOR AND AFT AFTER BEING STRUCK BY 16 SHELLS AND LEFT TO FOUNDER. SUBMARINE MADE OFF TO ATTACK A SECOND BARGE, PRINCESS MAY. CREW RECOVERED BY NAVAL PATROL VESSEL AND LANDED AT NEWHAVEN. (SIBI).
