WK COVERS AND UNCOVERS AS SAND BAR SHIFTS, CURRENTLY UNCOVERED AND STANDING 1.25MTRS HIGH IN GEN DEPTH 6MTRS. 12-14 CANNONS LIE ON SEABED, TOGETHER WITH BALLAST BLOCKS, CANNON BALLS AND A FEW PIECES OF LEAD REMAIN AMONGST THE WRECKAGE. WK IS WIDELY SCATTERED OVER A 40MTR RADIUS, WITH GUNS FACING PARALLEL TO SHORE. SMALL MAGNETIC ANOMALY. (J ROSEVEARE, TELECON 26.5.04). INS AS FOUL. BR STD. MISTOOK LAND'S END FOR THE LIZARD IN VIOLENT W STORM, BORE UP FOR FALMOUTH BUT DISCOVERED THAT THEY HAD TURNED INTO MOUNTS BAY. ANCHORED OFF LOE BAR. ALL THREE ANCHORS PARTED, SWUNG BROADSIDE ON TO SHORE, CAPSIZED AND SOON BROKE UP. OVER 120 LIVES LOST INCLUDING CAPTAIN LYDIARD. (CORNISH SHIPWRECKS & SIBI).
