BUILT IN 1936 BY DENY BROS. TURBINE ENGINES OF 34,000 SHP FOR 35.5KTRS. WHILST ENGAGED IN 'OPERATION VIGOROUS' ATTEMPTING TO TAKE A CONVOY FROM ALEXANDRIA TO MALTA, THE VESSEL WAS TORPEDOED, PROBABLY BY GERMAN TORPEDO BOAT S-55. REMAINDED AFLOAT FOR A TIME, BUT WAS LATER SUNK BY THE SHIPS IN COMPANY. (DODS).
