LEAST E/S DEPTH 46.5 IN GEN DEPTH 53MTRS. NO SCOUR. DCS3 HT 7.5MTRS. LENGTH 46MTRS, WIDTH 8MTRS. LIES 145/326 DEGS. WELL DEFINED WK. UPRIGHT. MINOR DEBRIS COVERS AREA 10 BY 30MTRS TO SE OF WK. (GARDLINE, HI 730). BR STD. PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT TO BE 'JERV'. SEE [6302]. HH100/3511/21 4.6.04 DIVED IN 5416.883N, 0004.053W [WGD]. INACT AND UPRIGHT. A 'CASTLE' TYPE STEEL TRAWLER WHICH IS STILL DECKED OVER IN MANY PLACES. A NUMBER OF DECAYING DEPTH CHARGES WERE SEEN ON THE STERN ALONG WITH A SMALL COMPASS, WHICH LOOKS LIKE THE HOUSING OF A CHRONOMETER. THE WHEELHOUSE HAS DECAYED BUT IS STILL EASY TO MAKE OUT. A LARGE WINCH IS STARTING TO DROP DOWN THROUGH THE FWD DECKING JUST AFT OF THE FO'C'S'LE, WHICH IS WELL COVERED WITH NETS. A LARGE GUN IS MOUNTED ON THE FO'C'SLE WHICH IS ALSO DRAPED IN HEAVY NET. A HUMAN LOWER JAW BONE WAS SEEN WITH TEETH STILL IN PLACE. THERE IS A REPORT OF PORTHOLES FOUND WITH 'TAP HANDLE' TYPE DOGS WHICH WERE MADE BY J ROBY, RAINHILL, NEAR LIVERPOOL. POSITIVE ID FROM THE BELL WHICH WAS RECOVERED BY FILEY DIVERS, BEARING THE NAME 'THOMAS CORNWALL'. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY). NCA.
