BUILT IN 1943 BY COOK, WELTON & GEMMELL. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GEORGE J. LIVANOS. SANK DURING HEAVY WEATHER. THE CREW WERE RESCUED BY A LIFEBOAT FROM SS 'STRATHEDEN', BUT THIS CAPSIZED & 11 OF THE 'IASON' CREW & EIGHT OF THE 'STRATHEDEN' CREW WERE DROWNED. (DODS).
