BUILT IN 1890. OWNED AT IME OF LOSS BY CHINA MERCHANTS S NAV CO. CAPTURED BY PIRATES WHO JOINED THE SHIP AS PASSENGERS WHILE ON PASSAGE SHANGHAI FOR AMOY. INTERCEPTED BY BRITISH SUBMARINE WHICH FIRED A SHELL INTO THE ENGINE ROOM WHEN SHE FAILED TO STOP. PASSENGERS & CREW RESCUED, 14 MISSING. (DODS).
