BUILT OF IRON IN 1885 BY W DOXFORD & SONS, SUNDERLAND. OWNED AT THE TIME OF LOSS BY W THOMAS, SONS & CO. PASSAGE ANTWERP FOR CARDIFF UNDER TOW OF BELGIAN TUG JOHN BULL. WAS RUN INTO BY SS INDIA BOUND FOR PENZANCE IN HEAVY SEAS. SLOWLY HEELED OVER AND SANK. INDIA STEAMED AWAY AT FULL SPEED, NOT STOPPING TO PICK UP SURVIVORS. OF 20 CREW, 19 LOST. (DODS & SIBI).
