BUILT IN 1944 BY BETHLEHEM-FAIRFIELD, BALTIMORE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY OKEANOPOROS SHIPPING CORP. PASSAGE RANGOON FOR COLOMBO. VESSEL WAS GUTTED BY FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS THAT STARTED IN THE ENGINE ROOM. STRANDED, AFTER FIRE, ON GREAT COCO ISLAND. ALL 29 CREW GOT ASHORE SAFELY. VESSEL ABANDONED AS A TOTAL LOSS. (MSD)
