ON 28 DEC GERMAN VESSEL 'WESER' REPD BODY IN WATER LONGSHIPS LT 11DEGS, 1.7M, AND LATER LIFERAFT WITH NAME 'CEMARK' WAS RECOVERED APPROX 1.5M N OF BODY. DUTCH 'RAITH' RECOVERED LIFERAFT 'CEMARK' ON 29 DEC, 134DEGS 8M FROM LONGSHIPS LT. ON 30 DEC 12FOOT BOAT WITH 'MARK' PAINTED ON BOW WASHED ASHORE AT MARAZION. FURTHER WRECKAGE LATER FOUND AFTER SHORE SEARCH OF MOUNTS BAY. (FALMOUTH CG, TELEX DTD 30.12.81). POSN 500000N, 053000W FOR FILING ONLY. 18.4.83 THOUGHT POSSIBLY TO HAVE GONE DOWN IN MOUNTS BAY ON 19.12.81. AN UNIDENTIFIED RADAR CONTACT SEEN DURING RESCUE ATTEMPTS ON IRISH MV 'UNION STAR' IN APPROX 495000N, 052500W AND SUBSEQUENT ENQUIRIES HAVE NOT PRODUCED ANY IDENTIFICATION FROM ANY OTHER VESSEL. (BBC2 'TONIGHT' PROGRAMME, 14.4.83). NCA. SEP 2016/000091765 27.10.16 NOT LOCATED IN M/B SURVEY. (MMT, HI 1500). AMEND DEAD.
