OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY COE, METCALD SHIPPING CO LTD. SUNK BY EXPLOSIVE CHARGE PLACED BY ARMED MASKED MEN, WHILE SHIP WAS ANCHORED, SHELTERING OFF MOVILLE . WAS ON PASSAGE BLYTHE TO COLERAINE. CREW OF 9 WERE TAKEN ASHORE. PROVISIONAL IRA CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR SINKING. (LL, 9.2.81 & MSD).
