SMALL CONTACT. (HMS ECHO, HI 1185). INS AS OBSTN 21.5MTRS. BR STD. SEP 2011/000052973 28.3.11 TARGET LOCATED AT 2940.53N, 4849.92E [WGD] DURING SURVEYS INSIDE MEZ. CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS A STEEL STRUCTURE SHAPED LIKE AN 'H' THAT STICKS UP FROM THE SEABED AT AN ANGLE. GEN DEPTH 22MTRS BUT STRUCTURE IS 8MTRS ABOVE SEABED AND IS 7.5MTRS WIDE. THE DIAMETER OF THE MEMBERS IS 1.2MTRS AND THE TOTAL WEIGHT EXCEEDS 10 TONS. THE ENDS OF THE TUBULARS AT THE TOP ARE SEALED AND THERE IS HEAVY CHAIN HANGING OFF THE STRUCTURE AND LAYING ON THE SEABED. HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY DIVERS IN LOW VISIBLITY. CONSIDERED TO BE A HAZARD TO SHIPS WITH DRAFT EXCEEDING 12MTRS.
