HH691/400/01 21.7.89 HAS NOW APPARENTLY COMPLETELY SETTLED ON BOTTOM. (I BARTHOLOMEW, REFERRING TO PHOTO. PUBLISHED IN FEB '89 EDN OF NAVY NEWS). NCA YET. HH691/400/02 4.5.94 REPORTED TO BE AFLOAT. (RFA DILIGENCE, HN DTD 6.4.94). NCA. 23.2.95 [WGD] POSN: 541655.5S, 363030W. NC 3589 [LATER WITHDRAWN]. SEP 2013/000049944 6.3.13 LIES FURTHER UP BEACH, IE WITH NO WATER BETWEEN WRECK AND BEACH. ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO A SHORT TRENCH WAS DUG AND THE VESSEL WAS PULLED INTO THE TRENCH TO PREVENT THEM SINKING ANY FURTHER. THE TRENCH WAS THEN FILLED IN AROUND THE BOWS OF THE VESSEL.
