Wreck No: W05493, Place of Loss: Cork, Carraig na Madraí / Dog Rock, Bere Island, Bantry Bay, Source of Coordinate: UKHO, Description: 876-/1396-ton English collier steamship, owned by Orders & Handforth of Newport and official number was 115,174. Classed 100 A1 by Lloyd's. Built in 1903 by R. Thompson & Sons, measured 247 x 36.5 x 16.8ftand had 164nhp triple expansion engines, machinery by NE Marine Eng Co. Lt., Sunderland. En route from Barry, Wales, to Berehaven, under J. Jenkins, with 20 crew and a cargo of coal for the British Navy Atlantic Fleet, which was bound for Gibraltar. The master misjudged the distance from the Roancarrig Light and the vessel struck a rock in fog. The crew were saved.
