SCATTERED AROUND THE BASE OF SOME LARGE ROCKS IN ABOUT 8 TO 10 MTRS OF WATER. NOTHING LEFT STANDING. WRECK HAS BEEN REDUCED TO QUITE SMALL PIECES SPREAD OVER A LARGE AREA. 3 MASTED SAILING VESSEL, BUILT IN 1857 BY BARCLAY CURLE & CO, GLASGOW. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MR. JAMES SPENCER. PASSAGE DUBLIN FOR GLASGOW. LEFT DUBLIN UNDER TOW OF TUG 'DEFIANCE'. THE TOW PARTED & SHE RAN AGROUND & CAPSIZED IN HEAVY SEAS ON ROCKS NEAR CASTLE POINT, S OF PORTPATRICK. 6 LIVES WERE LOST. (WRECK REPORT, PLIMSOLL.ORG & CLYDESITE.CO)
