BOWS STANDING HIGH, BUT COLLAPSED AFT AND THE STERN IS MISSING. PROBABLY IRON CONSTRUCTION. POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED AS THE SCHOONER 'RUNSWICK'. BELL FOUND ON THE SEABED AFT OF THE FORECASTLE. (A C JACKSON/C A RACEY). NCA. SEP 2016/000007250 16.06.16 EXAM'D 22.02.16 IN 5417.458N, 0010.959W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 44.1MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 49MTRS. LENGTH 47.2 MTRS, WIDTH 14.4 MTRS, HT 4.9MTRS, ORIENTATION 333/153. SCOUR LENGTH 8.5MTRS, 0.5MTRS DEEP TOWARDS 033 DEGS. STRONG MAGNETIC ANOMALY, WRECK IS PARTIALLY INTACT, WITH ONLY WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE BOW, WHICH STILL RETAINS SOME SORT OF STRUCTURE. (EGS, HI 1472). AMEND NDW 44MTRS.

BUILT IN 1872 AS A SCHOONER, PROBABLY OF IRON, IN JARROW. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE CLEVELAND FLOUR MILLS, THORNABY. PASSAGE HULL FOR STOCKON-ON-TEES. CARGO WHEAT. FOUNDERED AND LOST AFTER DEVELOPING A LEAK WHILE UNDER TOW OF A TUG.
