BUILT IN 1900 BY LOBUNTA & CO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LOBNITZ & CO, RENFREW. WAS BUILT FOR THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT AT A COST OF �22,000. PASSAGE RENFREW FOR FORMOSA (A TERRITORY OF JAPAN AT THE TIME). ENCOUNTERED HEAVY SEAS DURING CHANNEL PASSAGE AND SEVERE SW GALE OFF CORK. DEVELOPED LIST. LIFEBOAT WAS LAUNCHED AND TOWED ASTERN WITH SOME OF THE CREW. LIST INCREASED RAPIDLY AND VESSEL SANK. 12 OF 17 CREW LOST. (SII - NAME GIVEN AS SENTO, SHIPWRECKS OF THE IRISH COAST - NAME GIVEN AS SANTO & DIVER - NAME GIVEN AS SENTE).
