VESSEL, BUILT 1967 BY SOC ESPANOLA DE CONSTRUCTION NAV, BILBAO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY LIBTON SHIPPING CO. ON PASSAGE FROM PIREAUS FOR VENICE. HAD FIRE IN GALLEY WHICH SPREAD TO ACCOMMODATION, THENCE THROUGHOUT VESSEL. SANK DESPITE ATTEMPTS BY SALVAGE TUGS. ALL 79 PASSENGERS & CREW SAFE. (MSD).
