BUILT IN 1896 BY SCOTT & SONS, BOWLING. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ACTIESELSKABET START. ONE BOILER, TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE OF 98 NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY BY ROSS & DUNCAN, GLASGOW. PASSAGE SWANSEA FOR ROUEN. TORPEDOED BY UB-58. (D C WENDES). SANK FOLLOWING A SEVERE EXPLOSION WHICH WAS THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A MINE. (WW1SL). SUNK BY UB 57. ONLY TWO OF CREW ESCAPED. THEY WERE RECOVERED BY HMT THOMAS CHAMBERS. (DORSET SHIPWRECKS).
