IN BALLAST. ATTACKED BY GERMAN AIRCRAFT WITH BOMBS AND MACHINE GUNS. CREW ABANDONED AND THE VESSEL DRIFTED ASHORE. SANK THE FOLLOWING DAY AFTER BREAKING IN HALF. (SIBI).
