VESSEL, BUILT 1947 BY A/S BERGENS M/V, BERGEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY CITYSHIP PANAMA LTD. ON PASSAGE FROM BANGKOK FOR PORT HARCOURT. ABANDONED BY HER 22-MAN CREW AFTER A FIRE & EXPLOSION ON BOARD NEAR THE SUNDRA STRAIT. ALL SAFELY RESCUED BY THE BRITISH S TANKER 'TEXACO DENMARK'. AS A SUBSEQUENT SEARCH FOR THE 'TUNG HING' PROVED NEGATIVE, SHE WAS PRESUMED TO HAVE SUNK SOON AFTER BEING ABANDONED. (MSD).
