DRIES TO 8FT WITH LEAST DEPTH AT HW OF 2FT 9INS. THE TOP OF THE BOILERS HAVE BEEN CUT AWAY WHICH SUGGESTS SALVAGE OR DISPERSAL OPERATIONS. GEN DEPTH 12FT WITH SAND AND GRAVEL BOTTOM. 2FT SCOUR SHORE SIDE OF WK. (M B GOODRICK, 12.8.77). POSN PLOTS ASHORE. INS AS STPA, DRIES 2.5MTRS, IN 525800N, 010330E. BR STD. H1287/77/313 12.5.58 ANOTHER PROP & MORE WRECKAGE FOUND FURTHER OUT TO SEA IN THIS AREA. (M B GOODRICK).

PASSAGE SOUTH SHIELD FOR LEGHORN. CARGO COAL. WAS BEACHED FOLLOWING COLLISION. SUBSEQUENT REFLOATING ATTEMPTS FAILED.
