MODERATE MAGNETIC ANOMALY. AREA OF BROKEN WRECKAGE. (GARDLINE, HI 962). AMEND TO WK 40MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/22 25.5.05 NOT CONFIRMED AS THE VERA BUT IS THE RIGHT SIZE, ALTHOUTH THERE IS SOME DOUBT ABOUT THE TONNAGE AS WK APPEARS TO BE ABOUT 400 TONS. BUILT IN 1873 BY NORDDEUTSCHE SCHIFFSBAU GESELLSCHAFT, KEIL, GERMANY. OWNED BY THE SS VERA CO LTD, ELSINORE, DENMARK. ONE BOILER, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE OF 100IHP, SINGLE SHAFT. SUNK IN COLLISION IN 1874 WITH SAILING BARQUE HAGDA. HAGDA SANK QUITE QUICKLY, VERA SOME 12 HOURS LATER. NOT RECORDED IN LR. (D C WENDES).
