SEVERE SW GALE HAD BEEN BLOWING DURING THE INTERVENING PERIOD WITH GUSTS TO 73 KNOTS AT DOUGLAS. A LIFEBOAT HAD BEEN WASHED UP AT SEASCALE. (A CORKILL).
