VESSEL, BUILT IN 1945 BY GRANGEMOUTH DOCKYARD CO. LTD., GRANGEMOUTH, ORIGINALLY LAUNCHED AS THE EMPIRE TAVISTOCK, STRUCK GREEB POINT, DRIFTED OFF AND CAME ASHORE AT CAERHAYS, NEAR THE DODMAN WHILE BOUND FROM LE HAVRE TO STANLOW. SHE DEFIED ALL EFFORTS TO REFLOAT HER, CAPSIZED A WEEK LATER AND BECAME A TOTAL WRECK. (CORNISH SHIPWRECKS VOL 1 & SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES).
