VESSEL, BUILT 1957 BY VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS (SHIPBUILDERS) LTD. NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY DON SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. SANK OFF THE SW COAST OF GREECE, AFTER SEVERE ENGINE-ROOM LEAKAGE. ALL CREW WERE SAFELY PICKED UP. AN OIL SLICK COVERING ABOUT 100 SQUARE KMS WAS REPORTED BETWEEN GREECE & SICILY. (MSD).
