CREW ABANDONED AND BOMBS PLACED ABOARD, WHICH FAILED TO SINK THE SHIP. FIVE LIVE SHELLS FIRED INTO THE HULL AND THE VESSEL SANK. CREW RECOVERED BY SS 'HALFEAN'.
