BUILT IN 1928 BY BLYTHSWOOD SHIPBUILDING CO, GLASGOW. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY BRITISH EMPIRE STEAM NAVIGATION CO. 8 CYLINDER OIL ENGINE OF 653BHP, SINGLE SHAFT. MACHINERY AFT. WAS CARRYING OUT TRIALS FOLLOWING REPAIRS AT FALMOUTH & DETONATED A MAGNETIC MINE. TOW ATTEMPT FAILED WHEN VESSEL BROKE UP, STERN SECTION SINKING FIRST BEFORE FORWARD PART CAPSIZED & SANK. (WW2SL & SIBI).
