EX-SOCIETY EXPLORER '92, EX-LINDBLAD EXPLORER '85. BUILT IN 1969 BY UUIDENKAUPUNGIN TELKKA OY (NYSTADS VARV AB), UUIDENKAUPUNGIN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GAP SHIPPING CO LTD, V SHIPS LEISURE SAM, MONROVIA. TWO OIL ENGINES FOR 3800BHP DRIVING SINGLE CP PROPELLOR. ICE STRENGTHENED. STRUCK ICEBERG AND SUFFERED A FIST-SIZED HOLE. TOOK LIST TO STBD WHICH INCREASED SLOWLY AND VESSEL SANK. 100 PASSENGERS AND 54 CREW ABANDONED TO LIFEBOATS AND WERE RECOVERED BY M RO/RO NORDNORGE. (LR & LL). 86 PASSENGERS AND 66 CREW RECOVERED. (UKHO MEDIA INFORMATION).
