Circumstances of loss
29.3.42 BUILT IN 1939. WHILST ESCORTING A CONVOY TO N RUSSIA, WAS TORPEDOED BY A GERMAN AIRCRAFT IN THE BARENTS SEA ON 29.3.42. SHE EFFECTED REPAIRS AND PUT ABOUT FOR HOME BUT WAS ATTACKED BY OVER 20 GERMAN JU-88'S WHICH SCORED SEVERAL HITS AND SET HER ON FIRE. HER CREW WERE TAKEN OFF BY BRITISH DESTROYERS WHICH THEN SANK HER WITH TORPEDOES. (DODS).
